Hey Crafty Gems!  Are you counting down to Halloween? Because I sure am!  We're at Day 94 and I'm in a strange and unusual mood 😋 So I printed out stamp #304 The Ghost with the Most by Oddballartcoalong with some photos of me actually at a Halloween party AND in costume! (I love to decorate for Halloween, but often forget to get myself a costume before it's too late) I colored up Beetlejuice with alchohol markers and smudged a little bit of metallic gel pen in a violet and plum around her eyes like I had done my own makeup that night. I spread a layer of gesso across a textured white cardstock and used Vikki Boutin watercolors and a spray bottle to make my background. I was a bit warped so I cut off a ½ inch from the top and side glued it to a sheet of black cardstock to get it to lay flat. I diecut a BUNCH of layered flowers from scrap purples and blacks, glued glitter to a few of them, and put enamel dots or rhinestones in their centers. I popped my 3 phot...

Creepy Cute Chronicles Edition 115

Image
Hey there Crafty Gems! It's Friday 🎉🎉🎉 And that means Edition #115 of Creepy Cute Chronicles is crawling into your inbox with a new stamp!  I used this week's freebie along with stamps 247 Hula Spooky Sue and  495 Creepy Cute S'mores to create a bonfire on the beach scene! I blended Black Soot, Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet, Abandoned Coral, Carved Pumpkin, and Fossilized Amber Oxide inks to create my sunset sky. I tried splattering water on it to to remove some ink for stars but it's extremely humid is Texas right now and it didn't work well 🤷🏾‍♀️ So I grabbed a white and a few metallic gel pens to dot stars across the sky. I love the way this scene came out and how the "Summer" cloud looks like smoke from the fire! Make sure you're signed up for the Creepy Cute Chronicles to get fun a new stamp every Friday! Or sign up for the Premium Membership for just $15 to get access to the last 114 CCC Editions and limited edition Monthly Ex...

Using Up Old Products

Image
Hey Crafty Gems! With all the moving I've been doing lately, I've had a lot of time to go through all my craft supplies, take inventory and make 2 overall categories: what needs to be given or thrown away;  and what needs to be kept and used up. Within doing so, I found quite a bit of Citrus Twist Kits that I had hoarded for "the perfect layout". I don't want all those awesome bits to end up like all the now irrelevant products that I've had to give away, so I've made them the cornerstone of my selfmade Summer/Fall scrapbooking kit. The most ridiculous part of me hoarding these kits is that I have already printed photos in with them; so most of the work was already done for me, I've just been weird about actually using up the product. Crazy, right? I'm sure we all have paper, stickers or even photos that we're saving for the "perfect" whatever, but I'm challenging you and myself to really make yourself uncomfortable and use that s...
